Old Age Corona Treatment

Read here how an old man & old woman fought & defeated corona virus at home by taking a combination of allopathy & naturopathy treatments.

I am 69 years old & my wife sixty years old sharing their experience about how to treat covid 19 at home.

Covid 19 Symptoms

Let me first share with you how it started & what corona symptoms we had.

We have been sick since 23rd November. It all started first with myself having fever about 100 degrees Celsius, body ach & mild dry cough. A couple of days later my wife also fell sick – having fever, cold, back pain, and had lost her taste and smell.

Corona Virus Home Isolation

We got ourselves tested at the Govt. hospital & the report came covid-19 positive. We were advised by the doctor to stay inside our home isolated for 17 days. Next day the hospital administration delivered the medicines at our home. As we had some hunch feeling, so we had already stocked up enough ration before going for the test.

I have received a few calls enquiring about what we did to treat ourselves so fast at home and this inspired me to write this article. The artcle is not a medical advice but I will share with you some remedies about how you can treat yourself and your family members should they show any corona symptoms.

However, everyone is different so there is no one treatment plan what works for you will also work for somebody else. But the big thing is that most of these remedies are harmless and can help you recover fast from corona virus.

Corona Treatment Process At Home

The home treatment starts with getting isolated at home. And as there is no specific medicine to treat covid-19, the most important thing is to manage & control your symptoms.

Managing Corona Symptoms

As we were having fever so we took paracetamol-500 three times a day until we knocked down the fever. The fever came down to normal in 2-3 days – so we stopped taking paracetamol after that. And if the fever is high, you may take paracemol-600 instead of 500 thrice a day.

To control our throat infection, we took Azithromycin 500 mg, an antibiotic, and one tab a day for 5 days.

To get relief from dry cough, we took a dry cough syrup for about 5-6 days.

With these medicines, we were able to knock down the fever back to normal, control the throat infection and the body pain was also gone.

But in case you have other corona symptoms, you take specific medicine to manage that particular symptom, e.g., diarrhea.

In addition to the above we took two more medicines as prescribed by the hospital. One was Levocetirizine tablet at night for 10 days to relieve allergy symptoms. And the second was Ivermectin-12 mg dispersible tablet one hour before breakfast for 3 days to treat certain parasitic roundworm infections.

Boosting Immunity To Fight Corona Virus

We are also taking chewable vitamin C 500 mg tablet thrice a day to increase our immunity against cold and one multivitamin B-complex fortified with zinc capsule every night to boost immunity and tackle the weakness part of the Corona virus.

Covid 19- Respiratory Issue

But make sure if you feel any respiratory issues, please consult your doctor immediately. You must have an Oxymeter device at home & measure your oxygen level of your blood regularly during the day & it should always remain above 90. If it goes below 90 you should consult your doctor immediately.

Coronavirus Naturopathy Treatments

We also are doing some naturopathy treatments for Corona Virus:

(i) Number 1: Drinking lots of hot or warm water to keep us well hydrated. A big no-no to cold water & beverages.

(ii) Number 2: Drinking hot non-caffeine herbal tea or immunity kadha, 2-3 times a day.

(iii) Number 3: Mixing quarter teaspoon of table salt with hot water and doing gargles twice a day. This is keeping our throats hydrated & and also help break the mucus

(iv) Number 4: Inhaling steam 2-3 times a day to keep our breathing channels clear. As I still have some cold so I flush my nose after inhaling steam for 15 minutes.

(v) Number 5: Sleeping a little bit more than usual and taking enough rest because it does help the body heal fast.

(vi) Number 6: We are also doing some breathing exercises to strengthen our lungs such as Om-Vilom, Kapal Bhati, Bhramari & Bhraschika pranayama every day.

(vii) Oh, it almost skipped my mind to tell you two other natural immunity boosters that we have started taking:

(a) Turmeric milk. We put a half-teaspoon of crushed raw turmeric or turmeric powder in a glass of milk, boil it and then drink it before sleeping at night.

(b) And Chyawanprash – a well-known Ayurvedic immunity booster twice a day.

Today is 16th day of our quarantine period and we are feeling almost fully recovered with no symptoms except some weakness. To treat weakness we will continue taking B-complex vitamin fortified with Vitamin C & zinc.

Once our quarantine period is completed, we will not lower the guards because a part of the virus may still be remaining in our system and may get reactivated.

We will continue to follow the precautions, including keeping social distance, wearing mask when dealing with others, doing gargles with hot water mixed with table salt & inhaling steam once a day, drinking hot water, avoiding cold beverages & food and the crowded places.

Here are some more useful tips to fight off Covid 19 virus:

When you quarantine yourself, you should remain in a separate room and whosoever is taking care of you should put the food & other stuff outside your room. You always need to put on a good quality mask when dealing with someone in your family. Any family member when handing over any stuff to you should wear gloves because you don’t want to infect them.

We now need to change our lifestyle a little while until there is a vaccine or until there’s some proven medical treatments to treat Corona virus.
